Provincial MTB Championships & Citizen Series MTB Event #4- Red Mud Mountain Mayhem 21 - Brookvale

Sat, August 19th, 2017 — Sun, August 20th, 2017

a CYCLINGPEI Citizen Series Event...

Come celebrate the 21st anniversary of this marquis event. Red Mud Mountain Mayhem (RMMM) has become a mountain biking tradition in the Maritimes. For 20 years the name RMMM has been synonymous with “a premier Mountain Bike racing experience”. We have expanded Red Mud this year into a MTB festival to celebrate everything Mountian Biking. We have multiple events with a KOM, Eliminator, and the XC race over 2 days. Camping available along with other activites such as paddle board, kayak, trout fishing on Bonshaw River, guided MTB ride of other trails in the area. We also have prize money this year for the expert cat A divisions for male and female. We even threw in a keg a beer for after day 1 of the competition.

Enjoy some of P.E.I.’s best Mountain Bike trails as you tear through the August green canopy of Brookvale Nordic Mountain Bike Park (see map link below). This 7-10km (tbd) course incorporates a mix of both ‘flowy’ single-track and sweeping double-track sections. These trails are legendary on P.E.I. and have become fast and worked in over years of faithful usage.

CPEI will also be holding a Riders of Tomorrow fun race for young children prior to the main event. This mini event shall take place on double-track trail close the Nordic Lodge. The ride will last about 5 minutes providing kids with an opportunity to participate. All Riders of Tomorrow participants will receive an award. Parents are asked to join their children in the ride as well. Riders of Tomorrow is a free event and is open to kids under the age of 12.

There’s a reason this race has been around for such a long time and although a podium position is always uncertain, leaving with a bike covered in red mud and bundle of great memories is always a sure thing.
