(RECREATIONAL ROAD RIDE AROUND THE HILLSBOROUGH on Saturday June 3rd) is one of various events and activities (snowshoe outings, hikes, talks, presentations, field trips, among others) as part of the Hillsborough River Assn's Canada 150 celebrations with the over riding theme of AROUND THE HILLSBOROUGH. As well 2017 is the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough being designated a Canadian Heritage River.
This event will is approved/sanctioned by Cycling PEI and is being held in cooperation of the Hillsborough River Assn. For non members of Cycling PEI there will be a one day one time waiver.
RECREATIONAL EVENT (NOT A RACE) OPEN to various skill levels and types/styles of bikes.. Three groups each with a leader and sweep.
Duncan Sturtz will lead the fast group, Jan Meulenkamp the intermediate group and Barb Trainor the third group.
There will be a pre registration although day of registrations will be accepted.

ROUTE: Charlottetown starting at Ecole Francois Buote on Acadia Drive through Hillsborough Development onto the St. Peter's Road near Kentucky Fried Chicken east to Mt. Stewart stopping in Mt. Stewart at the Eco-Centre area for a break, refreshments, etc then across the bridge through Pisquid-Fort Augustus-Mermaid-Strartford over the Hillsborough Bridge to the starting point. Approximate distance 60 kms., on paved surface.
