2009 Canada Games Cycling Coach
Job Descritpion
 
Objective:
Cycling PEI is seeking a qualified coach to prepare cycling athletes for the 2009 Summer Canada Games. This will include the training of male and female athletes in both road cycling and mountain biking disciplines.
 
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of Level 3 NCCP Certification in Cycling or the willingness to attain a Level 3 Certification by end of 2008. Preference will be given to candidates who already possess the minimum requirements.
 
Experience working with junior cycling athletes ages 17-22 years.
 
Experience preparing training programs for cyclists.
 
Experience coaching cycling athletes at competitions.
 
Must conduct weekly training rides with athletes during cycling season.
 
Willingness to travel with athletes to regional and national competitions during race season.
 
Willingness to work with athletes during winter months to maintain fitness and build strength through a combination of weight training and cardiovascular activities.
 
Must have valid drivers license and good driving record. Class 4 (15 Passenger Van) license an asset.
 
Must report quarterly to board of Cycling PEI on training progress, race results and budget expenditures.
 
Must work with Team Manager and Cycling PEI to ensure all documents associated with Canada Games Requirements are submitted when required.
