8 Hour Cycling Event Huge Success
The 4th Annual Rigid Riders ?8 Hour Grunt? was a huge success this past weekend at the Brookvale Nordic Park. This was the forth and final event in the CPEI/Dalvay by the Sea MtB Citizen Series. Thirty beginner/Jr, sport and expert riders took to the hills of Brookvale for an 8 hour bike ride. In the end, every team completed at least 40 laps of course with the winning team completing 48 total laps. The teams with ties in laps place according to time crossing the finish before the other team in that last lap. A number of participants commented to say, ?This years event was the best yet. Teams were even was fun all day long, even after riding your bike into the 6th & 7th hours.?

Head Coach of the Rigid Riders, Brian J Murray, would like to thank all volunteer coaches and parents who assisted with the club and events all season long. A number of the participants including Murray did not take Sunday to rest their legs, some travelled to Western PEI for the 2nd day of the North Cape Coastal Ride, another 86.4 km ride.
