Sport Science/Information Series - Open to anyone interested!!!! Every Wednesday!!!!

As part of the 2006 Canada Games Trials (leading up to the 2009 Canada Summer Games), there will be an educational component for athletes, coaches, and parents. All sessions begin at 7pm and pre-registration is required for some sessions as space and group size is limited. Physiotherapy and Sport Psychology Presenters: Ralph Manning - Physiotherapist, Tara Costello - Certified Sport Psychologist

6. Wednesday August 9 - Sport PEI (Charlottetown)
High Performance Coaching This session is for any coach who aspires to or is coaching at a Provincial or Canada Games level. Come and listen to our guests talk about their experiences of being some of the most successful coaches in our Province. 7. Wednesday August 16 - Summerside Wellness Center
What Parents of Canada Games Athletes Need to Know Parents play an important role in their child's Canada Games experience and this session is designed to educate them on the process. Please join Peter Bolo, one of the premier volleyball coaches in our province who coached at 2 Canada Games and member of Team PEI mission staff to talk about the different aspects of the games. There will be an opportunity for parents to ask questions concerning the Canada Games. No pre-registration required

8. Wednesday August 23 - Montague (Location to be determined)
Using STOTT Pilates for Improving Performance/Sport Nutrition Presenter: Carrie Rigney-Weatherbie - Certified STOTT Pilates trainer at the Pilates Centre at the Spa located at the Charlottetown Mall. Allan Davidson - Registered dietitian with the Dept. of Health, and has worked with many provincial level sport teams in the past five years.
