Construction in National Park to Improve Cycling Infrastructure
     September 21, 2015 — Mike Connolly

This fall, Parks Canada will be undertaking a number of road reconstruction and paving projects, including:

· The Gulf Shore Parkway between Brackley and Dalvay. A detailed construction schedule for this project will be available in October;
· The Brackley Beach parking lot will be repaved and will be closed to traffic while work is underway; and
· MacMillan Lane, located off Bayshore Road near the park entrance, will be repaved. One way traffic will be maintained during this time to ensure local residents have access to their properties and visitors and local residents will continue to have access to the Bayshore Road entrance to PEI National Park.

During the road reconstruction and repaving projects, every effort will be taken to ensure there is minimal disruption to local residents and visitors, however there may be short-term traffic delays. Updates on the status and timing of these projects will be posted on our website:

Beginning this fall, Parks Canada will be refurbishing the Reeds and Rushes Trail in Dalvay. A new trail will be constructed to connect the Dalvay Pond facilities to the trail and viewing platform at Long Pond, which will also be rebuilt.
