International Bike to School Day

On Thursday May 7th, 2015 students will bike to school to promote biking as a form of healthy green transportation. Please be sure to obey the rules of the road and wear a helmet.

Mother’s Day Time Trial

The first warm up race of the PEI cycling season takes place on Saturday May 9th 2015. The 19km race begins and ends at Bluefield High School in Hampshire on the Colville Road Route #9. There are both competitive and recreational divisions. Registration opens at 8AM with the race start time at 9AM, and event prices are $20 online and $25 at the door.

Monday Night Beginner Road Ride- Opening Night Ride

Commencing on May 18th 2015, the Beginner Road Rides will be taking place every Monday night in May. Located at Sherwood BMR Do it Centre, they will begin at 6:00pm and end at 6:30pm. The event starts with a 10-15 minute workshop followed by a group ride. To participate, you must either be a CPEI member or fill out one of the forms for single event participation to gain free entry. The distance will range from 20-40K. Only road bikes are permitted. International Bike to Work Day

On May 15th 2015, help promote biking as a form of healthy green transportation by biking to your workplace rather than driving.

Ride of Silence 12th Annual

On May 20th 2015, cyclists across the globe will participate in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. The recreational style ride will begin at 7:00pm at the Provincial Government Offices parking lot and cover 15-20km. The Ride of Silence asks that its cyclists ride no faster than 12mph and remain silent during the ride. There are no fees. Participants will get a free ride of silence t-shirt.

CPEI- Citizen Road Series – Indian River #1

This is the first stage of the CPEI Citizen Road Series, in which the race consists of a 12km loop among the rolling hills and is rated low in difficulty yet high in enjoyment. Registration opens on May 24th, 2015 at 8:30- 9:30AM and the race begins at 10:00AM, located at St. Mary’s church in Indian River. The cost is $25 and bibs (if necessary) are $5. Rigid Riders MTB Club Opening Night- Trail Conditions Permitting

The Rigid Riders are a Cycling PEI sanctioned mountain bike club’s opening night is on Tuesday May 26th, 2015 beginning at 6PM and has programs for youths as well as adults, for all skill levels. They meet on Tuesdays from May- September, rain or shine at the Brookvale Nordic Site. There is a $60 fee. Rigid Riders also gives bikes for youths who are in need, and will cover kid’s race entrance fees and jerseys.

Red Island Relay 2015

The annual Red Island Relay on May 30th, 2015 is a multi- sport relay race that will take place at Brudenell Provincial Park, with registration at 7:30AM and the race beginning at 9AM onsite. The race is both competitive and recreational. The cost is $50 a person, and the race consists of 5 legs with 7.7K run,10K run, road biking, mountain biking, and canoe or kayaking.  Sporting Intentions Saturday Road Ride - Saturday, May 23 at 9am starting at Sorting intentions. 

Summerside Road Ride - Monday, June 1st at 6pm at the tennis courts at the Credit Union Place.
