Cycling PEI Mountain Bike Series Set to Begin

The Cycling PEI (CPEI) season continues next weekend with the first stage of the 2006 CPEI - Dalvay by the Sea Mountain Bike Citizen Series. Sunday June 25th at the Summerside Rotary Park will be the Summerside Muck Raker MtB XC event. The day starts with registration from 8:30 AM ? 10:00 AM at the Rotary Park itself. The first wave of participants should be ready to cross the start line at 10:30 AM.

Cycling PEI will be on site for those people who have yet to receive their CPEI Citizen Membership ($30), needed to participate in the 2006 Citizen Road and MtB Series. Dalvay by the Sea MtB Series plates will also be available at registration time. The registration cost is only $15 with all proceeds going towards the development and growth of cycling in the Province. This event will also be the first event for a number of new mountain bike coaches that will see their athletes compete for their club?s name. Dalvay By The Sea/CPEI Citizen MTB Series - Stage # 1

Directions: Coming through on route 1A on the Travellers Rest side, turn left at the lights at the end of Granville Street, go through one set of lights, then turn left at the second set of lights (on Walker Avenue). Then make your next left (going toward the hospital). You need to turn right just before the hospital. It is a one lane dirt road.

Coming through TransCanada around Reads corner, you enter Summerside on Water Street. Continue on Water Street until you come to the second lights. Turn right and you should be on MacEwen Road. Stay on MacEwen Road and you will come to a four way stop at Walker Avenue. Go straight through and turn right on the one way dirt road on the right.
