IMBA Trail Building School

The IMBA Trail Care Crew will be visiting the Island on Saturday July 31st.  The purpose of their visit is to train workers, volunteers and land managers on how to build sustainable multi-use trails.  The topics they will cover include:

 • Sustainable trail design

• Basic construction

• Turns, drainage and bridges

• Trail Reroutes

• Trail Reclamation

• Rockwork

• Effective Use of Signage

• Fostering volunteer clubs and partnerships

The classroom part will take place from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Lawtons Medical Center in Montague.  The trail work part will take place 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Murray River trails, approximatly 8km from the classroom.
