The Pownal/China Point Time Trial and Road Race (June 3,2006) was dominated by the Dalvay By the Sea/Taylor?s Garage Cycling Team on Sunday with team members taking the top three spots in the Time Trial and in the Elite Open Road Race.
Geoff MacDonald had the top time in the wet Time Trial followed by Dalvay/Taylor?s teamates Mitchell Jay at and Mitchell Armstong.
In the Road Race the Dalvay/Taylor?s team blew up the peloton at the 40 km point of the 80 km route on a solid attack led by Duncan Sturz. The rain and wind played havoc on the field including teamate Kyle Kneebone who crashed during the second lap.
The sprint to the finish was between the Jay, Armstrong, Sturz and MacDonald all of the Dalvay/Taylor?s team, with MacDonald winning the honors followed by Armstrong and Jay.
The Dalvay/Taylor?s team will be heading to Saint John this weekend for the New Brunswick Provincial Time Trial and Road Race Championships.
A wet but successful day with a morning ITT in Pownal and a Road event in the afternoon at China Point.
