CPEI Kicks Off Season with Full Schedule of Training Opportunities

Level 1 MTB commissaire course is being held Saturday, February 9 and Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Sport PEI. Instructor is Kevin MacCuish from BC. Cost is $40/person. CPEI is subsidizing partial costs for this course as the registration costs are usually much higher.  There is some pre-course reading required. Mike has all other material needed.

This course will enable the person to commissaire local MTB events and earn $50 an event and more for major events such as Red Mud.

 

Level 1 Road Coaching Course is being held March 8-9, 2008  and Level 1 MTB Coaching Course is being held March 30-31, 2008. Both to take place in a indoor gym and possibly outdoors if the weather is good. Cost is $40/person. CPEI is subsidizing partial costs for these courses as the registration costs are usually $100/person. Instructor is Luc Areseault from the Atlantic Cycling Center. There will be a series of 4 Coaching seminars that are open to all cycling members over the next 2 months and all current coaches are encouraged to attend. There will be sessions on nutrition, pre-season training and recovery, bike maintenance, and possibly touring, and event management.

If you are interested in any of those seminars please contact Mike at 368-4985 or mconnolly@sportpei.pe.ca. All seminars will be free and a complimentary lunch will be served. If anyone has suggestions as to other seminars they would like to see please contact Mike. More details to be released next week. If there are not enough numbers they will be cancelled. 2 of the seminars will be held on weekends and the other 2 on week nights.
