Island Trails will be hosting a unique three day family cycling event over Thanksgiving weekend, October 6th, 7th and 8th 2007. This exciting event will feature three stages that will expose participants to the natural breathtaking beauty and colorful foliage that adorns eastern Prince Edward Island in the Fall.
The first leg on October 6th leaves from the gateway community of Wood Islands where you will experience live entertainment as the event officially begins. Participants on day one will finish in the seaside village of Murray Harbour. Day two kicks off in Mount Stewart and finishes in Georgetown, the capital of Kings County. Cyclists will find themselves travelling the northside of eastern PEI on day three as they leave St. Peters and travel towards the finish line at the eastern most tip of PEI amidst towering windmills at Elmira Railway Station. Participants are reminded that transportation will be provided to drivers back to the day’s starting point. Trail Officers will accompany participants each day to ensure safety throughout the event.
Following each stage there will be exciting entertainment and many great prizes that have been donated by event sponsors. For more information on the event and to see a list of sponsors please visit Island Trails brand new website at www.islandtrails.ca or call Grace Blackette at 902-583-2412
